Wild Hogs
writes, "Movie critics gave this movie a "D", which is the main reason I decided to see for myself...

"
I have a deep suspicion of movie critics. They seem to look for some kind of socially redeeming feature to the movies they critique and leave out the most important factor...entertainment.

I ask myself "was this movie entertaining? Why?" To me, that is the only factor that counts.

Wild Hogs was wildly entertaining. Yes, at times it was stupid...but then so are most wildly entertaining comedies (think "Airplane").

That lovable character actor, William Macy, really stole the show from around his three mega-co-stars. His portrayal of a geeky computer programmer-turned "Biker" was hilarious. An (female) audience member would have been forgiven for trying to pinch his cheeks.

The main characters were different enough from each other to make for a truly unique "biker gang". Each had his own set of quirks that set him off from the others. What they had in common was a desire to explore "freedom" by getting away from their dreary lives for a while. A road trip seemed the perfect antidote to their woes.

Without giving away too much of the movie, let me just say that it had me laughing the whole time and, at the end, I even detected some clapping from the audience.

The ending had a surprise twist, somewhat like those bloopers you see on other comedies but...NOT...

This unsophisticated movie critic scores Wild Hogs with a big fat A+. See it for yourselves and then decide.
